Cookie Policy
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies oPin2™ ("we," "us," or "our") uses on opin2.com and its associated services ("the Service"), why we use them, and how you can control them. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on return visits and to remember certain information about your preferences or actions. Cookies cannot execute programs or carry viruses.
Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services we use, such as analytics or advertising providers.
3. Cookies We Use
We use cookies in three categories. You can manage your preferences for optional categories at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in our footer.
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They do not track you for marketing purposes. No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under applicable privacy law.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
oPin2 (first party) | Maintains your session for rate limiting and security. Prevents excessive requests from a single browser session. | Session — deleted when you close your browser |
3.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Service so we can improve it. All data collected is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We only set these cookies if you choose Accept All on our cookie consent banner.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google LLC (third party) | Distinguishes unique visitors and sessions. | 2 years |
_ga_BKB74899GP |
Google LLC (third party) | Maintains Google Analytics 4 session state for the oPin2 measurement property. | Session |
Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC. For details on how Google handles this data, see the Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Terms of Service.
We use Google Consent Mode v2. If you choose Essential Only, Google Analytics operates in a cookieless mode — no analytics cookies are placed on your device. Only an anonymous, non-identifying signal is sent to Google for statistical modelling purposes. Choosing Essential Only means your browsing is not tracked.
3.3 Advertising Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver and measure advertisements served within the Service. We only set these cookies if you choose Accept All on our cookie consent banner.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising delivery cookies | opinserv.com (third party, operated by oPin2) | Delivers served content and tracks impressions and interactions for ad campaign measurement. Prevents the same content being shown repeatedly. | Session and up to 90 days (varies by campaign) |
4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
On this site: Select Cookie Preferences in the site footer at any time to review or change your choices. Your updated preference will be saved immediately and applied on your next page load.
Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete all cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent core site features — including rate limiting — from working correctly. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Google Analytics opt-out: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising choices: To opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly, you can visit Your Online Choices (EU/UK) or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool (US).
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may place cookies or access your device. Each operates under its own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
- Google Analytics 4 — Google Privacy Policy
- Content Server (opinserv) — operated by oPin2™; advertising delivery and measurement
- OpenStreetMap — map tile data, served directly from
tile.openstreetmap.org. No cookies are set by OpenStreetMap tile loading. See the OSM Privacy Policy. - MapLibre GL JS — open-source mapping library loaded from
unpkg.com. No tracking cookies. - Google Fonts — loaded from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. May log the font request including your IP address; no tracking cookies are set in the browser. See Google's Fonts Privacy FAQ.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. We honour this signal: if your browser has DNT enabled, analytics and advertising cookies will not be set regardless of your cookie banner selection.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our services. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after the updated date constitutes acknowledgement of the changes.
8. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about our use of cookies, please contact us using the Feedback link in our site footer.
H. Privacy Policy — Cookie Section to Add
Add the following as a dedicated section within the existing Privacy Policy, cross-referencing the Cookie Policy rather than duplicating it:
Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Service. Cookies fall into three categories: strictly necessary (required for the site to function), analytics (measuring usage), and advertising (serving and measuring content). Optional cookies are only set with your consent.
For full details of every cookie we use, the providers involved, cookie durations, and instructions for managing your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in our footer.
